Just finished the coding...Track dedications and comments are now available for ALL of your requests.
Just make a request...you'll figure out what to do from there .
Eventually I plan on adding onto this feature...but who knows when I'll get to that again. I worked on the code a bit here and there today while at work..It was one of those things that was "spur of the moment" .
Enjoy! Play Nice! _________________

theEpiphany this is AWESOME! Logging onto UAB every morning is always a treat and this new feature is just a cherry on top of an already delicious sundae!
I think it will be fun to see what other members think of different tracks and get an insight on why they picked that specific request. I am really excited!

Hey D, one minor thing I noticed....
when you do an apostrophy ( ' ) in the text field, is displays a left slash and then an apostrophy ( \' )... Just a heads up... |

Yup..I'm aware of the slash...it does that because it needs to specify that the ' is part of the string to echo and not part of the php code. a slash is used in many programming languages (BASH,SH,PERL,PHP etc) to explicitly echo a charater that can be used as an "Operator".
I'm trying to figure out a way around it. _________________

Of course...it's something I knew of and forgot to put in....(thought I did)
the Stripslashes function would help.
All fixed.
I bumped everyone's requests up.... _________________

I know you are/were working on fixed the slash issue (which I found out was even an issue when I wrote my first comment). I would also like to bring to your attention that I just typed in the word "glasses" and it looks like it will be showing up as "gl***es" I guess to bleep out the offending word in the middle of glasses. Is that normal? fixable? any of the above? I'm all for keeping it clean, this is a Disney site after all (and a small world, too) but I think its a little silly that offending words even if inside another word will get knocked out. Just one mans opinion.
With all that said, this comments/dedication this is pretty kick-***...I mean, pretty sweet! Thanks for adding it to the fun of this place! |

Hi JTToad
Yeah I wrote the filter myself...I typed HELLO myself and was sensored so I had to remove the filter for that...Eventually I'll make it a little more intelligent. I honestly wanted to gauge how much need there would be based on the first week's comments.
I guess I have the answer. _________________

This is great!!! Thanks Epiphany. Every now and then I do have a reason for requesting a specific track and now I can express that. Cool! |

tE, no problem what so ever. I just had never come across something like this before.
Again, thanks for all the work you put in to making this place run.

And we would have nothing to do without tE. We would all just be sitting around wishing there was a great site out there that played Disney Theme park music. Probally rocking back and forth trying to calm ourselves till the next trip to a park. _________________ Jason

Well, it's a unique feature... if I were to play devil's advocate, I wouldn't be opposed to a toggle to turn the visibility of the comments/dedication on/off. |
