This question was posted on the chalk board on monday 9/3/07 in the store next to The American Adventure:
My question is with the answer to this question was someone poking fun at the University because of the football teams performance during the weekend?
Appalachian Who???
If you are not into college football this post may be puzzling. The cast member who asked me why I was taking a photo of the board, but I get that often with Pal Mickey so I am used to it. _________________ Jason

Didn't Gerry play for Michigan? I believe I remember from his Presidency because of the number of jokes about his playing without a helment so many times. Actually I think he was a good footbal player.
Did Michigan play at ASU in Boone? Seems like a bit of a mis-match.
And if I am wrong about this it's because the last time I followed football was in
19-70 something.
Go Pats whoever you are. _________________ [ |

They were in the same conference with ETSU (Easy T) when I was a student there. And ETSU hasn't had a team in years. _________________ [ |

According to Wikipedia:
Quote: | Attending the University of Michigan as an undergraduate, Ford played center and linebacker for the school’s football team and helped the Wolverines to undefeated seasons and national titles in 1932 and 1933. The team suffered a steep decline in his 1934 senior year, however, winning only one game. Ford was the team’s star nonetheless. During the same season, in a game against the University of Chicago, Ford “became the only future U.S. president to tackle a future Heisman Trophy winner when he brought down running back Jay Berwanger, who would win the first Heisman the following year.” |
