Ok, who's seen it? Who loved it? Who hated it?

I saw it Sunday and loved it. It had a great mix and I think it set the bar for all future movies. The humor was great too. Overall, it was great fun and I enjoyed it. So much so that I'm seeing it at 2:30 today as a treat from my work! The company is closing and taking us all to the movies!! AWESOME!!

Question for those who have seen the film:

Would you recommend watching all of the origin films before seeing The Avengers?

Of the five films (Iron Man, Iron Man 2, Thor, Captain America, and Hulk) I have only seen one (the first Iron Man). I'm not very familiar with the Marvel Universe, so a primer might be helpful.

What say ya'll?

Well, since this movie deals MOSTLY with events from Thor, I would suggest at least watching that first. If you know of the others, then its not that necessary watch those first. But if not, then maybe Captain America also. Not much new in Iron Man 2 and the Hulk is a new-ish story line for him.

IMHO

You could go and see it without seeing any of the others, but if you wanted to add a bit of depth, I'd say Thor and Captain America. And then Iron Man 2.

You can skip the Hulk movies, really. I mean, I like Ang Lee's take on the entire thing, and hated Louis Leterrier's Incredible Hulk (so boring!), but I am totally Team Ruffalo now when it comes to the Hulk. SO GOOD.

Yeah, I saw it opening night, right before we left for WDW and it was soooooo much fun. It was everything that a summer movie should be.

You don't need to have seen the other movies, but it's not a bad idea if you did. Besides, they're pretty fun as well.
