|
|
Hey All,
I am currently working on my senior thesis in Design, and I am participating in a design competition with Disney. So I have come here to ask the Disney experts, if you have any ideas on good ideas for rides, or movies you would have liked to have seen into a ride, or some kind of activitiy. I know it sounds vague, but if you have any suggestions I would love to hear them.
Thanks

In the same style of Peter Pan and Snow White (the rides)...how about something dealing with Mickey, Minnie, and the rest of the gang? There's never really been a Mickey Mouse ride. He could be presented in different senarios, spanning the various stages of his developement.
"Mickey's Magical Journey"
Just a thought....I'm sure I'll have others..... |

Seeing how much of a "geek" I am and how popular Kingdom Hearts has become, I suggest a Kingdom Hearts based ride. If I'm not mistaken, Disney owns the rights to many of the characters, and there was a rumor of a Kingdom Hearts ride in the works but it has died out. |

I'd suggest looking at two areas for ideas...
1) Disney Sea
2) The early plans for Villian Mountain
I'd also recommend you look for an idea that is FAMILY inclusive. Consider the audience. Folks come to Disney to have fun, and to spend time with thier families. Many of the new rides require you to split the family up so those who can, get to ride, and those that can't wait.
See what you can come up with that while exciting is not too health restrictive, and something that parents will want to do over and over again with thier kids as they grow older. Something the kids will in turn want to do with thier kids. Admittedly you can not make something for everyone, but the more open it is the better.
EX. Haunted mansion, Pirates, Small World, Jungle Cruise, Presidents. All of these classics are repeatable, sharable, and pretty open in accomadating. |

If you really want to hit it off with Disney... I say you go back and look at things that Disney thought of but never went forward with, and work out one of those
Include a restaurant inside your ride... maybe something with a talking Confucious
Good Luck

Hey all, sorry I changed my screen name, this is Xcrunner15.
Alright well progress with the ride idea is slow in coming although I feel I have a pretty solid direction. I have a question for any one interested (or still reading this thing lol) what is your opinion of those "happy accidents" that always seem to go wrong with Disney rides, ie star tours where you get lost, dinosour when you get lost, etc. there are too many to list. Do you think its over played or should I include that trademark into my ride? |

The "Happy Accidents" add the element of surprise to the ride. Even though they are expected The trick is to do it at a place in the story where it is unexpected.
As for the chat... Propose a date and time, and we will get members to chime in _________________ Dave.... |

If there is a fun way to come up with something unexpected, by all means. Repeating an existing "Accident" would probably take away from the perceived originality. (And often perception IS reality) |

The most successful Disney movies and rides are the ones people care about - the ones they can get emotionally attached. A good back story is a must. What would Tower of Terror be without the Twilight Zone? Star Tours is a favorite, but whatever happened to Body Tours? |

How about a semi-interactive thrill ride. Kinda like Horizons with thrills. For instance, in Indiana Jones in CA, really have three different paths that you can take. I think that would be really cool, and you'd have to ride it at least three different times to see everything. |

WELL TO GIVE A LITTLE DIRECTION WITH THE WAY IM GOING, THE CURRENT IDEA THAT I HAVE HAS 4 COMPLETELY SEPERATE "PATHWAYS," IT IS ALSO INTERACTIVE.
IF YOU SEE ME IN THE CHAT ROOM AND WANT TO KNOW MORE FEEL FREE TO DROP IN, MIGHT AS WELL USE THE CHAT WHILE WE CAN. AS FAR AS SETTING UP A SPECIFIC MEETING TIME TO TALK ABOUT IT, FOR ME BEING ON HERE IS KIND OF HIT OR MISS, BUT I WILL TRY TO SET ASIDE A SPECIFIC TIME AND UPDATE AND NOTIFY AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. |

I think they need something with a strong edge like HM and POTC. These rides have stood the tests of time and changed everything about entertainment in theme parks. They should have it something like the Indy ride at DL also. Basically something that can take your breath away _________________ Attention travelers, please remain seated. As dark and as violent as it may sound I've thought about a Swiss Family Robinson simulator, where their up on their hill top fort fighting off the pirates. It could be put with Pirates of the Caribbean and have the muskets, like the frontier land shooting arcade, and cannons like the POTC game at Disney quest....and definetely be able to set off a Tiger trap somehow You could play as any member of the family. I think it'd be sweet. |

You know, now that I really think about it, they should have a new PeopleMover. Something kind of like the pods in the Incredibles. It should be very high tech and interactive. _________________ Attention travelers, please remain seated. Your vechile will be rotating backwards. -Spaceship Earth |
