Hi gang. For me, this whole meeting was pretty much blind luck. I've been a lifelong Disney fanatic as well as a ardent DLer and always wished that I could find a place that gelled with my memories of the park(s). While surfing for Any site that could supply my fascination for Disney with good material UAB just kind of showed up on my radar, and I'm glad it did. Like I said before, it hasn't been easy registering this little piece of Disney heaven but now that I'm here I'm going to do whatever it takes to keep the good times rolling. Sorry, I have a tendency to ramble , even when typing! Well, until later, Peace.

Hello UAB!!! I remember the day perfectly the day I joined UAB. I was on VisionsFantastic.com. I loved that website (when they actually had Disney Audio) Anyways, I saw an ad for UAB saying "Listen to the Land and Tune in the World" It clicked in my head. This website has WALT DISNEY WORLD!!! VF only had Disneyland which was great but to hear Spaceship Earth, Illuminations and so forth I knew I had to join. On UAB was the complete Enchanted Tiki Room. I was SO excited to hear it. I quickly thought of a User Name. I had previously heard an AC/DC song on my iPod called Fire Your Guns. It was ringing through my head so I made it my User Name. A few minutes afterwards I heard theEpiphany or someone in high ranks announcing new members. He said my User Name and said, "Oh my, don't want to know what that means!" I felt embarrassed afterwards.
Since that day I've been on UAB more times then I can count. I listen to it while doing homework, by the christmas tree or just browsing through the internet. I love it. THANK YOU!!! SO MUCH!!!
If fact, I would love to help! Maybe even be part of the staff. I lvoe the site so much I don't know what to do without UAB!!!

I bookmarked it for a return visit. A month or so later, I returned to the link and it was down to re-create itself.
Came back again and it was Utilidors Audio Broadcasting. Was wary of joining and put it off several times. Finally decided to try it and glad I did.

my story is similar, in reverse. I was trying a live linux cd, and it came with Amarok installed. (A music player) in addition to playing local CDs (actually, it's kinda hard to play a CD when you booted linux frm the CD drive) or mp3 files that are on a mounted filesystem.
it also had a number of streams available ... for all sorts of styles and content. browsing through there, i saw a whole category of "disney" themed streams. the uab 24kbps stream was on the bottom, and as an old MK cast member, i'll click on anything that says "utilidores."
so i listen for a bit and fell in love. one minute you guys are playing the dapper dans, the next, the epcot main gate theme. then over to adventureland. very cool.
so anyhow, i'm playing backgammon online, and mentioned to one of my opponents my recent find. (actually, i think i posted a message about narowcasting in general and this site in particular.) a few players had heard the term "utilidor" before, and asked mye questions about them and the AVAC system and the brinks truck and such.
that got me googling "utilidor" ... there's not really all that much out there.
by the way, the first and last time any cast member hears or uses the term "utilidor" is on day one of traditions. after that, it's all "tunnel"
i worked there nine and a half years. no one EVER said, "Go down to the walk in freezer in the utilidor and bring up a tram of mickey mouse bars." not once.
i DID get stuck on the elevator one time, just me and two trams of icecream. i think a tram held 32 tubs and i think those tubs were 3 gallons each. 192 gallons of ice cream and 150 pounds of cast member got on ... the elevator got stuck ... about an hour later... well, let's just say i had an ice cream headache.

Let's see, where to start?!?! Oh, I know! My sister is KRAY (shocker I know) - the official Disney Cult leader in our family. I'm glad I joined though. It's great to get a daily WDW fix.

I'm sure you all know how it goes. Go to one Disney site, check out the links to go to more, soon you're cruising a dozen or two a day and stumble upon some of those sites that you have to check e v e r y s i n g l e d a yyyyyyy
