Hi gang,
I really miss Horizons. Why don't they make rides like that anymore? (ahh sigh, I'm bumming the destruction of Horizons today). Who's with me?

i was thinking about it earlier today, too. i'm showing my western civ kids Metropolis.

I'm always bumming about Horizons, I never got to go on it as a teenager. The last time I went on it I believe I was 7 or 8, so I only have vague memories, but I love it. I think it'd be cool if that rumored property Disney has int he midwest became an Extinct Attractions park, Epcot of Old, Original Magic Kingdom Attractions the possibilities are endless. It'd be awesome.

This thread got me thinking, so I got on YouTube and found a decent ride through of Horizons. I think it was taken in 1983.

There are also ride throughs of the original Journey into Imagination, World of Motion, and who knows what else.

Hi folks. I guess it's safe to say that Horizons was/is the true symbolic attraction of what EPCOT Center should be. Not only did it provide an overall view of what Future World was all about but the future in general. Leave us not forget that the concept of choosing your own ending to the ride is one that has yet to be duplicated, yet. IMHO if they really wanted to upgrade on of the Tommorowlands at the parks Horizons would probably fit in better than any other attraction; if only for the nostalgia aspect. Well, here's to fond memories of the future that could have been. Later, peace.
