Ya know, I never really minded the hand and wand. I think SSE will look kinda weird now without it, but I agree that from a purest standpoint, SSE will be returned to its original glory.

I think I will miss it a bit. My most recent memories are of heading to the park in the early morning hours during marathon weekend and seeing that big splash of color winking in the semi-darkness. I'll have to wait until I see SSE without the wand to see how I like it and what old memories it conjures. I'm not sure I liked the wand the first time I saw it, but after 10 years away, I really couldn't picture SSE without it.

We talk back and forth here about keeping the old and also about how the original idea of Epcot was to be a view to the future. And we discuss pros and cons of character tie-ins with Epcot. I don't know how I'll feel when I see SSE without this. Hopefully it won't create an obvious void, for me anyway.

Talk about mixed feelings... I remember it with out the wand, and it is a clean stylish look... but the wand has gotten to be "just part of it". Have to wait and see...

I wish they'd bring back that multicolored fountain out front.

It may happen...the Leave-A-Legacy has been discontinued and the monoliths may be removed at some point in the future.

I'd love to see this back, but the folks that purchased the "Legacy" might have a valid case if they were taken down... that is not what they were sold.

That's why Disney said that the parks would be in a constant state of change......... never being complete............out with the old in with the new..............what needs to go up is a Christmas tree hook on the side and a price tag to represent the new Disney philosophy everything is up for sale for a price..............either that or add ears to make it into a gigantic antenna ball hehehehehe

The program was only supposed to run for 5 years.... only 5 years of being able to add, then they would leave the tiles (just like the bricks at MK)...

The problem is that this program has not lived up to the expetations Disney originally had... they put in so many "monoliths" because they expected to fill them... but since the response has been so poor, the majoriity of the monoliths are blank...

The program to add to the "Leave a Legacy" has ended and all the kiosks removed... especially the one at the base of SSE...

There has been rumors of them removing the tiles, consolidating, and relocating to another area (off to the side)... this will open up the way to remove the monoliths and redo the entrace area... but again, these are just rumors (and a lot of wishful thinking on many people's parts)...

I finally got around to buying a spot on the Leave A Legacy in February. I sure hope they dont take them out before I even have a chance to see it!
That would really suck! Sad

Disney (normally) has a 10 year guarantee for such things. Whether they move them to another location is another story....The bricks at Disneyland and WDW were sold as such.
