More changes to the Mexican Pavillion

Saw this posted on Allearsnet.com:

In Mexico, a 50- to 60-seat tequila bar will soon replace one of the retail shops in the pavilion's indoor courtyard. Along the waterfront, the Cantina de San Angel is going to be expanded with additional seating allowing better views of World Showcase.
A new menu will debut at the eatery by summer 2008.

The tequila bar could make things interesting.... Crazy

Bad things happened the last time I spent any serious time with tequila. Strictly gin or irish whiskey for me now. Until bad things happen with those.

While a tequila bar sounds really awesome...NOT sure how good of an idea that is for a Disney themepark.

It is probably going to be an upscale bar where one partakes of fine, expensive tequilas. I've seen them on Food Network.

I don't think it's going to be $5.00 shots of "Old El Gringo" like at the Legion hall. I agree that this would not be a good thing.

The tequila thing should ba a ride. At the end it will have a speedramp like space mountain. That speedramp will take the riders to the first aid, will they will be given lots of water, and made to watch fantasia, and fantasia 2000. At that point they can exit the ride. I've seen a couple of drunks stumbling around Epcot, and it bothers me.

What other changes are in store for the mexican pavilion? I remember rumors of the boat ride, but what is actually happeneing with it? THEY BETTER NOT TOUCH THAT SONG.

El Rio del Tiempo is now a boat ride hosted by the Three Caballeros. I didn't even know they had changed it till I walked over to it on Saturday. Same ride, but new dialog and music (and man did I miss that song!). What's funny is they've added the Caballeros into real footage for all of those video screens. Some of the screens are still showing the same footage that they have since 1982, except now there's a cartoon drawn in it. Overall, it was a nice update . But really, I'm going to miss that song that would always get stuck in my head.
