Maybe its just me - but my love of the Disney parks seems to involve alot of looking at maps of each park, and imagining I'm there. It probably started when I got my first Disney map wall poster back in the 70's (which I still have).

So I guess I'm looking for a project now for the web that might involve park maps. What would you like to see? Have you ever said: I wish there was a map that __________ (fill in the blank).

If you have any ideas let me know here.
If not... give it some thought Smile

How about something like the Frappr Map...when you roll over a location, you see a picture of that area (attraction, people, area shots, etc.)

There should be a shopping map with all the stores and vendors listed.

I would like to see a more detailed map. When you look at a Park gudie or map on line they are cartoonie and do not show the little nooks and crannies.

I just double checked my maps from Oct 2007, and yeah - the Kodak spots are still there. It's a camera icon symbol.

I've found that whil those really are the "best" spots for a picture, just about anywhere in Disney there's a picture waiting to be taken.

I'd like to see a more realistic map showing the true contours, but also one that changed along with the Disney Timeline...

So the Florida project, then watch it change as the buildings develop and are removed, swapped in/out, etc.

I was on Disney's site, and they offer a map marking your favorite locations. Folks might want to check it out.

You mark the areas you like, and a few weeks later they send you the map (along with publicity stuff of course...)

Yeah, I thought about doing something like that for the Jamboree last year, but couldn't get it done in time....

Great for private events and special tours...!

My only suggestion is dont do something with some crazy perspective that distrorts distances. I know universal studios is a swear word around here, but when I was down there a few years ago I liked that their maps were actually computer generated renderings that were somewhat 3d, dont know where your skills lie in maya or 3ds but just an idea

Hi there. I don't know how extensive your project is, but my dream map would indeed be an online or frapper map that could give you close ups and details of whatever land you happen to be in.

Of course my fantasy map would more along the lines of the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. Kind of an electronic "book" with a touchpad; and every time you wanted to look up a land, ride, restaurant, etc., you would enter a code and see the details on a small screen. There would even be a recorded voice giving you the details..like onstar.

Of course, all of this is just my manic imagination. I'll let you try your hand at creating the ultimate park map. Good Luck.

Oh, and by the way, how 'bout an AV 'now playing' map for UAB. Just a thought. Peace.
