Many big companies are under huge pressure from helath groups and governments about food options. Look at the states that are banning trans-fats. And you know these agengies go after the big guys to make a point. Disney, I'm sure, has already been approached and is making moves on it's own before being beat up in the press by health groups, etc. Keep the picketers away from the gates.
This is exactly right. That's exactly why they are doing it.

I still think it stinks. Add all sorts of healthy things...just leave the option to eat poorly if I want. I'm on vacation--I want!
I could be horribly rude about this...and have refrained. I will continue.

Oh, believe me, I hear ya! But, unfortunately, it is the wave of the future. Hopefully, in the future, the taste will be brought up to the point where we don't even notice the difference.

I think I mentioned above...but another consideration is the price point of these "healthy" items. I don't want to pay $3 for a ziploc baggie with some grapes in it. For $3 I want an exceptional snack that I can't go out and buy for myself at home (for A LOT cheaper).
I can see the healthy angle and the point about the new wave of organic stuff. Honestly, i know very few folks who truly adhere to this--the ones I do know adhere like gospel...but for most folks I know, it's a fad.
Pressure of others or whatever the motivation may be...Disneyland and WDW are high dollar, well done theme parks. Part of the attraction of a vacation spot for me is the food.
I am on a budget, I am thin-well within healthy BMI and when at home I have to be very conscientious about how I spend my money. I enjoy cooking and eating GOOD FOOD. Admittedly, a lot of GOOD FOOD in the world is made with butter, in a fryer or with things that many would not consider "healthful". Yet, over and again after years of study all of things are found to be absolutely safe and wonderful...when taken in moderation.
As any of you following this thread may have noted...this is really a burr under my saddle. I am in no way a socialist. I do not want the government, health board or Disney telling me what I can and cannot eat. I understand safety checkpoints, dress codes (which I wish were stricter) and ride precautions. But this feel invasive.
The greater point is that I miss my corn dog nuggets and my french fried from award weiners. I want my Disney fun foods!!! I want MY vacation...
