I was up at 3:30 so my daughters Irish Dance class could be filmed for the local news channels.
They did a great job dancing and it is a great way to start St. Patrick's Day.
But now I'm tired.... |

I think Donna and I will walk to Curley's tonight after dinner to "drown the shamrock". I don't eat corned beef and cabbage anywhere except at home or at my brother's house because nobody does it like the Connors boys. And that store bought soda bread is crap.
So wear your green, and raise a glass in honor of the Saint. And watch out for the wee people. They can put an awful curse on you. _________________ [ |

I had some excellent soda bread at my daughters dance school, Home-made by the instructors Mom. Great stuff.
So how do the rest of us get some of the "Connors boys" Corned Beef? |

The next time you are going to be in the area, give us a heads up. We use the gray corned beef, (not that red deli stuff) and you can't always get it. And I'll bake a wheat soda bread like they serve with the stew in Ireland. Don't come looking for dinner in the hot weather either. It takes about 4 hours to cook it right, and that throws a lot of heat and steam into the kithchen. Not something you want to do in August.
And there must be Irish dancing. I have the CD's so your daughter will have her choice of tunes. Full costume and wig of course. The only time I ever wish I had a daughter instead of boys is when I watch the step dancers at the festival. _________________ [ |
