I am looking to take the spouce to WDW for a second honeymoon (with out the children...)

We have pretty much decided not to stay at a value, and can not afford deluxe, which leaves me looking at staying either off-site or at a moderate. So I'm looking for some opinions. Which one and why? ? ?

I've only stayed at Port Orleans Riverside and the Caribbean Beach resorts in the moderate category. I thought Riverside was sooooo romantic. My husband (who was my finace then) and I stayed in the Alligator Bayou section with a river view room. We would stroll along the river in the evenings watching the sun go down. We would "chase" eachother through the trees. There were so many rabbits and butterflies we would see who could count the most. We would swim in one of the small pools at night and would have it entirely to ourselves. We walked through the mansion section and pretended that they were our plantation homes. We would bring wine to our room at night and drink it on our front balcony while overlooking the river and all the lights reflected in it.

Ok, I'm now jealous your going and I'm not. . . . . . .But do you get the idea?

I'll be staying at Port Orleans - French Quarter in October. It looks pretty nice and I'm a jazz fan so I think I'll fit right in.

I think PO:FQ is one of the most romantic resorts at WDW... It has great themeing, landcaping, very quiet, very very nice! It was better when it had it's own restaurant (now it only has the counter service), but it is still one of the best places.... My favorite!

We have stayed at both PO resorts, but FQ is cozy with it's narrow tree lined streets. Get a river view room.

I loved the PO Riverside. You could get lost in how many quiet paths and roads there are! I thought it was great!

Undecided at this point. We will need to get to Sunday Mass, and it is always nice to have options for dinner off-site, but I may be able to borrow my brothers car for those. Why would that alter your recommendation?

I believe you can go to Sunday mass on property. They used to have mass at the poly I think. But that information should be available on the Disney web site, or in one of the travel guides. And you can always take the bus, or boat from FQ to Downtown Disney for other dining experiences.

Actually Mass (Catholics!) was cancelled at the Poly. Not sure if it was Disney or the church that was organizin it. I am not sure about other Sunday services either.

Too bad too. No matter what denomination, it was nice seeing so many people (always packed) taking time from their vacations for "the important things". Made you appreciate what you were doing more.

I am supprised the Colorado has so few votes. Just not romantic?

So that's why I felt the ground shake up here in chilly MA early this AM.
