There has been a lot of talk by the local news organizations regarding a new "unofficial" blacklist by the US Government, a blacklist that exclused Florida and Nevada from consideration for any Government conventions or large-scale meetings.
In a time when the economy is still in very bad shape, the two states that rely the most on tourism and out of state visitors are said to be off limits by the Federal Government. And get this, the rumored reason behind this move, because the two starts may be "too fun" and might give the American public the impression that attendess to conventions are only here to have fun and not do work.
Just another form of political correctness. The truth does not matter as long as you are percieved well.
I would think that any decision as tyo where to hold a meeting should be based upon:
- Where is the easiest place for people to get to that are critical to its success
- Where can it be held that keeps costs to a minimum
Obviously something as common sense as those criteria are inadequate for our fearful leaders.
