|
|
We just returned to the hotel after the HM 40th event. If you read this, we're back before midnight. Why you might ask...because after we got to the Mansion, we rode, we had cake and punch and that was it. We paid $85 to basically do what we had done earlier in the day. The event was LAME! Now, that's only speaking for the Hitchhikers Package (the lowest end one). The other packages included dinner, a show and a discussion panel. From what we heard, that was really good, but those of is who were unable to get the better packages (due to Disney's major malfunction with their event site), we got the shaft.
I'll be contacting Event Services to let them know that I was completely dissatisfied with the event and it will be doubtful that I will attend any more in the future.
In Summary:
Event Idea - A+
Event Reasoning - A+
Event Date - A+
Event Signup - F-
Event Registration - C-
Event Execution - Incomplete _________________ When you're curious, you find lots of interesting things to do.

Oh, don't get me wrong, the trip, overall, was Fantastic! Crowds were a bit heavy on Sunday and Monday, but they thinned out on Tuesday. The Hotel is fabulous, and we've had a ball, it's just that the 2+ hours we spend for the event was poor.
I'll be calling Event Services when I return. If this is what they consider "quality", then Iger needs to take a closer look at his operations! _________________ When you're curious, you find lots of interesting things to do.

What a huge bummer!!! I remember when we all did the HMH event. Ma and I had the lower package and we were able to do lots of stuff with you guys...the entire game row, the band was playing, amazing desserts and real mint juleps.
I think you should definitely contact of event services...I know I have been REALLY disappointed with the pricing of the packages in relation to what is received. The quality of the events has diminished GREATLY...I didn't even do Candlelighting last year---won't this year either. The price is going up way beyond inflation and NOTHING new is offered.
I know that in the past Event Services has looked at it as if they have a cornered market--that people will pay whatever they ask just to go to a special event. I just don't think that is true...the experience needs to live up to the out of pocket expence.
So sorry you guys were disappointed.

Sorry to hear the event was such a bummer. Especially for HM!
MNSSHP isn't even that expensive, and you get a heck of a lot more for your moolah. I was renewing my pass last night just as the narrator for Nightmare Before Christmas was put on the loudspeakers. Gave me chills and I was jumping up and down with excitement since I can't wait til I get to go this year!
Sorry, off topic... I'm glad to hear that apart from the disappointment of the event that everything else has been great! I hope to make it out there someday, preferably during the Christmas season so I can see the overlay! Definitely be sure to tell Disney your displeasure with the event (or lack thereof). Even if it doesn't amount to a hill of beans, you will have done your part in hope of making things better in the future. I'm sure others will be voicing their opinions of the event to them. |

Bum deal. Maybe all the bugs in the planning were Master Gracey's doing. |
