The Disney and More website has a very in-depth article about some recent Apple patent filings. Basically, it is a very detailed patent that describes the process and ability to purchase various kinds of tickets from the iTunes store, including concerts and theme parks. It also includes Apps that can offer other options for those tickets, such related music, information, etc....
It is a very in-depth and technical, but very very interesting:
It would be great to see that come to fruition. I wish my AP barcode could be stored on my iPhone so it could be scanned at the gates. Also, with House of Blues being at DTD, it would be nice to be able to purchase those through iTunes and have the ticket electronically stored for admittance. I'd love to see Apple destroy Ticketmaster (personal wretched experience with them after YEARS of patronage).
