However Disneyland does all these (except Splash) much better.

I'll agree that Pirates is FAR better in DL, but I think overall, Splash and Mansion are much better in WDW. And if MK's Mansion got the technology update it needs, it would be, by far, the best of all Mansions.

Spash in DL pales in comparison to the WDW. It has no attention to detail. When I rode it, I kept thinking that they were missing a lot of theming. Pirates is way better in DL - it has added scenes. Mansion in WDW adds the piano scene, which is really cool.

The Indy Ride in DL is the absolute best. I love the theming, the queue, the action, and the special effects. I hope it comes to Orlando. I love the Tower of Terror, as the buildup and the theming in the queue are almost better than the ride itself.

Oh, I almost forgot the Jungle Cruise. There's a universe of difference between the DL and WDW versions. The DL one has the absolute best skippers whereas it's almost like the WDW skippers are told to stick to the corniest jokes. The DL Jungle Cruise with the right skipper may be my absolute favorite.

Ah, but I can't forget the Mansion... Darn... there are too many to name.

Keeping to the WDW thread..I forgot to add that I really like to just ride the train sometimes. Peaceful ride.

I like the monorail! Does that count as an attraction? Razz

Absolutely. On each trip we try to ride the monorail and the ferry, even if we just ride one over to the TTC and the other back. And we even consider the bus back to the resort as an attraction.

And, if you use ME, we are in Mickey Mode as soon as we get on the bus.

I guess it doesn't take much to amuse us.

If we are having fun outside the MK, the lil' Mickey Sprite boats are a blast!

I'd have to disagree. The lack of an interactive, walk-through portrait hallway and the poor sound system really took away from the experience for me. The couple of extra scenes should have made this version better, but they really didn't for me at all.

But I agree, Splash Mountain was a huge improvement at the MK.

Listening to UAB and hearing the area music from Mike Fink's Keelboats raised the question of why that attraction went away. Most of the time the steamboat is out for repairs and the riverway is empty.

I know it was a slow attraction, but so are those rafts to Tom Sawyer's Island.

What's the official word on these? And when were they discontinued. Time for another epistle according to tE. (Not being sarcastic. He always gives me the detail I need.)

I miss Skyway. -And 20,000 Leagues. Rest In Peace

20K would have been #1 on my list, if it was still around.
(sigh.) So I guess that leaves...

#5 Space Mountain
#4 Haunted Mansion
#3 Big Thunder Mountain
#2 Pirates of the Caribbean
#1 Jungle Cruise

JC gets the top spot because it's a Disney classic, but it's different every time you ride it. All the witty tour guides deserve a standing ovation! Everyone's delivery of the jokes is so different and unique that the ride never gets dull.

When people ask what I would do at Disney if I could, I always say a Jungle Cruise Skipper. But a Mansion Butler, or a Tower Bellhop would be pretty sweet too.

I'd have to go with Haunted Mansion and Pirates in MK as tied for first place (call me a traditionalist). Although, for flat-out "bang-for-your-wait" you can't beat Splash Mountain. At most parks (Disney and otherwise) you wait 30-60 minutes for a coaster that's over in 2-3 minutes. Splash Mountain just keeps on going. A bunch of drops, fun music, and dancing chickens. How do you top dancing chickens? That's a good payoff for your wait.

When you put it like that, how could anyone argue? Smile

So, you guys are obviously experts about Disney. Is it pretty much accepted by most other people here that Haunted Mansion and Pirates of the Caribbean are the best attractions in Magic Kingdom? cuz they are certainly my favorite.

It's all very subjective. I liked most if not all of the attractions in one way or another. HM and Pirates being my top faves. Very Happy
