Actually kinda dreading all of these. REALLY hope that we see a lot of changes about all this stuff through the summer.
Fast pass: The masks
Standby: Social Distancing (cant wait to NOT hear this expression ever again!)
Skip: Temperature check
Questions that non Disney people ask you about your next trip that make you cringe the most:
Isn't that too much money to spend on an amusement park?
Wouldn't you rather go to someplace "real"?
Are you going to ride that "Harry Potter" ride? |

That order actually...
Fastpass: Too expensive (add up all the costs of a "regular" destination vacation)
Standby: Real vaca (come up w/ a place that is great for multi generations, safe & easy to split up, etc)
Skip: Harry Potter ride (we sometimes sneak off for a day to Universal!)
Fun narration:
Dinglinger's Store (party line, listen to it on an old fashioned phone, one of the Main St stores)
Jungle Cruise queue
Splash Mountain queue |

Fast pass: Dinglingers Store phone - I've never looked for this, but I will now!
Standby: Splash Mountain
Skip: Jungle Cruise - still love it!
Park attraction you would really enjoy just getting to inspect without the crowds to really appreciate all the attention to detail the Imagineers put into them:
Tower of Terror
Expedition Everest
Seven Dwarfs Mine Train |

Fastpass: Seven Dwarfs Mine Train (it's always so loud inside. Would be great to look around without the noise level.)
Standby: Tower of Terror
Skip: Expedition Everest
Also, Disney is reopening July 11th! My last trip was this past Sept. We flew in 90 minutes after the Orlando airport reopened. Have never seen such low crowd levels. Pretty awesome.
Phone is supposed to be in Chapeau store.
Which attraction do you hope is back when next you visit?
Character meet & greets
Parades
Nightly firework shows |

Fast pass: Fireworks - love those dessert parties!
Standby: Character meets
Skip: Parades - but never for real!
Glad you caught a break with the crowds last year. We were on the other side of that. We flew out of Orlando on Labor Day, the day before they shut the airport down. Originally planned on leaving the Wednesday after Labor Day, so Dorian robbed a couple of park days from us.
Hard ticket events:
After Hours (no special fireworks or parades, just extremely limited crowds)
Holiday parties
Villains After Hours |

Fast Pass: Quick breakfast and rope drop - last trip we just ate pop tarts in our room
Standby: Character breakfast early and rope drop
Skip: Later breakfast - we are definitely rope drop people!
Dog movies:
Eight Below
Snow Dogs
The Shaggy Dog
Disney's got us pretty steamed right now with these cancellations through the end of the year now. Pretty certain our trip this year is off the table at this point. Honestly, I'm ticked off enough to skip next year too, at this point.

Fastpass: The Shaggy Dog
Standby: Show Dogs
Skip: 8 Below
Souvenir you're likely to skip:
Latest & greatest Mouse Ears
Funky popcorn container
Speciality glass
After the latest press release (sneakily released last night or the night before), my 13yr old niece doesn't even want to go.
ADRs cancelled, no park hopping, Dining plan cancelled, etc etc.
If Disney was offering a big discount to not cancel my trip, I might consider it. This trip was from a bounceback offer from Sept trip, including free dining. Now they're not honoring free dining? That seriously increases the cost & not something I had budgeted.
2021 is the 50th anniversary, a time I wouldn't choose to go normally. |

Fast pass: (Most likely to NOT buy) Popcorn Container
Standby: Latest Mouse Ears
Skip: (Most likely to buy) Special event glass, and hope it makes it home in one piece!
Non verbal animal pals:
Abu
Pascal
Pip (Yeah, he could talk to his human friends in the early part of Enchanted when everyone was animated, but when the scene shifted to "our" world (so glad they didn't have to show up today), he was silent).
I think it was rational to expect our trips this year to look quite a bit different, but so much has been pulled off the table. And yet it sounds like they might still be trying to pull off Halloween parties, according to the email communications my wife has had with Disney yesterday. Not sure what our plans are anymore. The ADR cancellations hurt, we had some we were really looking forward to. Free Dining was part of our bounce back deal as well. I guess we're in the same holding pattern that everyone else is, waiting to see what Disney is going to offer. It needs to be good! |

Fastpass: Pascal
Standby: Pup
Skip: Abu
Festival Ambassador/Mascot -
Orange Bird
Figment
Duffy the Bear
The Halloween party makes them $$ and they know exactly how many tickets they can sell and have been sold.
I did notice the park hours have changed as well (at least for August as of now) MK closes at 7pm every night, Animal Kingdom closes at 6pm, Studios is 8 or 8:30 and EPCOT at 9pm.
Those would normally be a few hours later at least, so combined with no extra magic hours?!
Also, all the international cast members were sent home when Disney closed, so World Showcase will be staffed by Americans. Nothing against Americans but the international CMs add so much to World Showcase. |
