Disney announced earlier this morning, this is teh 20th and final year of the Osborne Family Christmas lights: http://disneyparks.disney.go.com/blog/2015/09/osborne-family-spectacle-of-dancing-lights-celebrate-a-delightful-holiday-tradition-one-more-time/

Personally, I would love to see them take the lights and structures that Disney owns and move them to DTD/DS... Would drive insane numbers there and increase shopping/dining revenue. They could sell dining and viewing packages for huge $$...

Most of the re-construction of DTD/DS will be over by next year and would give them a big Holiday celebration there.

I can't believe my timing - I am going to WDW in December to check out all things Christmas. I have never seen the Osborne lights before. This was definitely on my list of "to do"

The idea to move it to DTD is pretty good, but I'm not sure how you would charge for it seeing as people can just go there at anytime for shopping. You could not charge, (yeah. I know - Disney not charge - that was funny) but I'm wondering what other changes might have to be made to handle the traffic (car and people) could become a mob scene very easily. If they use all of DTD, that is a larger area, I wonder how spreading the display out more would work. might make it more appealing.

Yeah, no charges.... you could do some of the regular fade effects and dancing to the typical Christmas music, just like they do during "normal parts" of the current show. Maybe spread out the "features' effects and songs, like every 15-20 minutes... You can do special dining packages that would include roped off dining area. They are already doing dining packages this year at DHS, with sections of the "Streets of America" roped off.

Would also be a good advertising for the RFID/dancing ears, wands, etc....
