In case anyone wants to record their own Disney audio when they go to the parks, Sony has released it's latest MiniDisc player. You can get them here: http://www.soundprofessionals.com/cgi-bin/gold/item/SONY-MZ-RH1. Pair that with a set of binaural mics that you clip onto your shirt collar and you're ready to roll. They make really good recordings, it's like you're actually there. With the binaural mics that have a separate left and right mic, the parades go from left to right, just as they did when you were at the park.

Perfect to listen to if you can't get to UAB for whatever reason Smile

Pretty slick item, but a tad on the expensive side.

Are you getting one of these, or is it on your "wish list"? Smile

I've had several over the years. I had a Sony one, two Sharps, and I just ordered this one today.

All of the players that I previously owned recorded/played the original MD format. The old format has been upgraded to this HiMD format, which is backwards compatible. I have about 70 discs or so of recorded material on the old style. Before this player, there was no way to transfer old material onto a PC digitally. This player is the first to enable that, so I'm psyched about being able to archive all of my old recordings.

In addition, the HiMD format provides the ability to record in a CD quality bitrate, whereas the old ones were compressed.

In my opinion, this is the best park recording option - swappable media for long trips, convenience in the remote control (I keep the unit in my pocket and use the remote control for the record levels, etc), and with the tiny mics, it's very inconspicuous.

A bit pricey, but I wouldn't trade my recorded Disney stuff for anything.

I use a Sony and Sony mini stereo phantom powered mic (looks like a small piece of charcoal), and they both work great!
