I'm not sure I like the presentation, either. It shouldn't be necessary to mic them up and pump the songs through the speakers on Main St. _________________ |

The Dans have been at Disneyland since 1959, and have gone through many cast changes.
Look at this picture from thier website
This story has been around the net for months, and this is something that happens quite regularly if you look at their history. Their WEBSITE doesn't even say anything about them leaving, because it's common.
Granted those 4 were great and funny and I enjoyed seeing them, but to be honest..I remember seeing them when I was young, loved them then too and they were different people!
There have been many Billy Hill and the Hillbilies too!
And so ends my turn on the SoapBox |
It's not the fact that they were replaced...it's HOW they were replaced...Corporate changeovers and all that crap....Essentially they didnt have a chance and there was a lot of smoke blowing... _________________

The same thing happened with the main street piano players...after Rod retired, after just a few months the other players were told they'd be on call but that they were hiring all new people. Kinda sad when some of those guys have been there forever, and really are a part of the park...sigh. |

Geez...I only remember seeing the Dapper Dans a few times, I am at the park all the time, must be the time of day.
I have a friend that used to preform at the Park back in the 60's and 70's. He was a paino player somewhere, I dont even remember now, but he was Disneylands first Full-time musician. He is still involved with the park at times, but he says that most of the musicians don't las very long there anymore. They get "real" jobs and make a lot more money elsewhere.
Its sad that a place so well know for having the best performers around cant keep them for very long _________________ Turning the warehouse into A Disney Sound Sensation.... |
