Two life-size dinosaurs will grace the outside and dozens more robotic dinosaurs will decorate the interior of the T-Rex restaurant and store under construction at Downtown Disney.
The restaurant, slated to open next fall in Downtown Disney's Marketplace section, will be the second in a new chain designed by Steven Schussler, who created Rainforest Cafe, and developed in partnership with Landry's Restaurants. The 30,000-square-foot project, much larger than the Kansas City, Kan., prototype, will include a cocktail bar, a 3,500-square-foot retail shop and enough educational and entertaining decor to qualify as an attraction, Schussler said.
"We've got over 35 different dinosaurs on the inside, a quarter of a million dollars in fossils embedded in the men's room and ladies' room, with educational comments so you can learn about them. Most of that stuff in there is literally 45 [million to] 80 million years old," Schussler said. _________________ When you're curious, you find lots of interesting things to do.

Lifesize dinosaurs?
So they are going to be the length of the entire Marketplace? Maybe then mean "really big" reproductions of dinosaurs. Or else reproduce the smaller ones.
Maybe the dinos in Univ of Energy will come over to socialize! |

I hope those dinos don't slobber and snort like the ones at Universe of Energy. Not while I'm eating. _________________ [ |

hmm... if someone else's children are misbehaving can you feed them to the Dino?
Sounds like a nice place to visit, but the fossils in the restrooms? Not sure I like that idea. First, as a bathroom, reproductions are probably good enough for that... and do we really need 1/4 million dollar decorations for a bathroom. |

Does sound like an expensive bathroom. I'm sure it'll be themed to the gills.
Wonder if it'll force Rainforest Cafe to up their performance? The last time I was there it was just so-so. |

Adding dinosaurs to a restaurant?
Oooh, ahhh, that's how it always starts. Then later there's running and screaming.
Name that quote! |
