As most of you know, mrsguru and I will be heading to DL/DCA in a few months for our first trip there!
I know a lot of practical stuff about WDW, but I don't know a lot of pratical stuff about DL... so we need some assistance. We are looking for some dinning recommendations.
I plan on making some reservations very, very soon and I need some more ideas....
I already plan on booking reservations for Blue Bayou and Cafe Orleans, but I don't know anything about any of the other restaurants. We only plan on booking 2 or 3 more reservations at sit-downs, mainly because we don't want to take too much time away from the parks (first time, remember). There will be time in the future to try the others....
Oh, we will be staying on property at the Disneyland Hotel, if that helps...
So, what would you say are the 2 or 3 best restaurants (not including the two mentioned above)? _________________ Up or Down North, South, East, or West An Adventurer's Life is Best! |

I like Storytellers at The Grand Californian and there is Goofy's Kitchen for a fun character breakfast.
In Disneyland park, we like the Plaza Inn for dinner (the chicken is awesome).
The biggest problem with Disneyland is there aren't a lot of restaurants there.
If y'all wanna take a bit of a walk off-property, you could have a VERY nice breakfast a Mimi's on Harbor Blvd. That's one of our favorites. _________________ When you're curious, you find lots of interesting things to do.

Definately the Blue Bayou - but you have that covered. I agree with Davypoo that the Plaza Inn is awesome for dinner - my husband and I usually share a plate - they are HUGE.
Ralph Brennens Jazz Cafe in Downtown Disney is another of our fav's. We like both the food and atsmophere.
Not nearly as many choices as WDW for sit down restaurants - but sometimes that's easier - not as many choices.
Other food ideas:
White water snacks at the GC has good quick breakfasts at reasonable prices.
Another favorite dinner for us is getting a pizza to go from the pizza place in Downtown Disney. Sometimes a pizza with some beer or wine (or whatever you want) in our room while looking out at the resort is just perfect. At the DL hotel you have those sliding glass doors which give you an awesome view (hopefully not of the parking lot).
We like the Boudin Bakery in DCA for lunch - or Red Rockets which has AWESOME ribs.
Oh, and ALWAYS need a corndog from Corndog Castle in DCA.
Ok. . . . . I'm hungry now. . . . . . |

I'll double Ralph Brennens Jazz Cafe in Downtown Disney and MIMI's Off property. If you have a car I highly recomend "The Original Pancake House" It's only open till 2 in the afternoon and it is my favorite place on earth. Here is a link to the Anahiem Location. It is not IHOP. http://www.originalpancakehouse.com/phloc_anaheim.html and is not that far from DL. I reallly recomend this place. It may require a wait but it is so worth it. _________________ Jason

I second the In'n'Out recommendation. Can't come to CA without having one. _________________ Remember the Magic! |

Blue Bayou was awesome!! good choice. Make sure you ask for a seat next to the water. We had to wait like an extra 10 minutes, but it was WELL worth it.
I enjoyed Goofy's Kitchen even without the kids along it was a good time.
Other than that... Dole Whip Floats and Churros, my freind!! |

David mentioned our favorites, but here's a couple more:
Hook's Point (outside DL Hotel)
Taste Pilot Grille (DCA)
Carnation Cafe on Main Street (we've eaten there for breakfast) _________________ *~deb~*

Yeah, Taste Pilot's Grill is good. When we went there, we were like, "How the heck do we order?" But, we figured it out. |

I want to thank everyone for the recommendations... I will let y'all know which ones I got reservations for...
And regarding the In-And-Outs, I really want to go. But, we will be staying on property with no car, not sure if we will be able to make it there this trip or not.... But, where there is a will, there is a way _________________ Up or Down North, South, East, or West An Adventurer's Life is Best! |

Oops, I said Red Rockets when I meant Taste Pilots Grill - got my airborne related restaurants confused. . . . . . Taste Pilots is the good one. |
