It's werid to see the full queue open. I can't remember the last time I waited more than 3 mins to ride SSE. I saw the preview over Xmas and was mildly satisfied. Of course the nod to Steve Jobs, (or is it Wonz?) was a nice touch.

I think it's supposed to be Wonz he's a little heavy for Jobs Embarassed

I got the chance to ride last weekend. Smile

I like the changes and how they made it all look clean and new. Very Happy
Very well done.

Donna and I were both really pleased with the new version. I was disappointed with the choice of narrator. Sorry ladies , but I do like a more authoritative male voice for this attraction.

Didn't realize that you liked Jeremy whispering in your ear as much as I did!

Yah I've never seen the line this long... I was there on January 18th and not only was the que full but the line stretched all the way back to project tomorrow!!!!!

It is funny a lot of you like the new SSE. If you go to the other sites it doesn't get many good reviews at all. I was there December 16th and got right on while they still had the soft openings. I must say the accent is great. But the decent is not up to WDI standards. I asked the Cast Member at the end if this was going to be this way. She stated to me, "most likely". I hope they added something to it instead of the darkness and video screens on the way down. I am almost likely not to go on it again. I might go once next time just to see.

WDI may have said they are done, but they are always (usually) making things better. Even on the newer rides I am consistantly seeing minor improvements each time I visit an attraction. I am sure they have the message about the decent by now, from all the feedback they get. (I absolutely LOVE the "infinite" star field!)

I think they should do some static or semi-dynamic (small movement) displays on the way down. Nothing huge or complex like the AAs or scenes on the way up.... But some small displays or models, based on the different possible scenarious viewed on the screens.

Got to hit the soft opening at my last visit. I liked the updates and the minor changes, but keeping the timeline basically the same. The 1970-80s computer room took me back to a scene out of Horizons which was great. But the descent was pretty dumb. Looks like they put an intern in charge of it and all he had experience with was Flash player, I really hope they change the descent. It's to simple and cheesy to be part of the ride, it should be something at the end in that pavilion.

Therewasatime..
They have improved the end since you visited last I think. Everything other than the screen on the descent sucks (the screen still sucks), but things in the post ride tie things together with the screen. You will probbably read about it somewhere, but I won't ruin it for you. I also notice a few subtle changes last Wed. on some atmospherics during the descent. I think they are still working on that. (the star field is REALLY COOL though!!)

Well, we FINALLY got to see the new SSE.

I love the new AA's, I like the story flow, I miss some of the removed portions, but HATE that they dumbed it down to a 1st grader level and don't care for Dame Judy as a narrator.

They could leave the scenes, change the narration and even keep Dame Judy and it would improve it all quite a bit.

But I did enjoy the video screen at the end. It was pretty funny!

I bet you look cute prancing around in that video in that Jetsons outfit.

I don't really remember all of the original (1982) ride. But I miss the spacemen at the end as we are descending to earth. And I don't miss that neon tunnel.

Does anyone have a video or pictures of the original ride through? I'd love to see that and be able to show Donna. I keep telling her about the spacemen, but would like to see it again myself. WDWMagic has one I believe, but I am not a subscriber and don't want to be for this one thing. I saw the attraction for the first time in April 1988 and returned twice more in 1990 and 1993.
