I'm sorry to report that Disney legend Harriet Burns has passed away.
Harriet was the first female hired by Disney in a creative capacity. She worked on everything from Disneyland's Sleeping Beauty Castle to the World Showcase in Epcot, and did everything from building Tiki Room birds to building the models of the Matterhorn.
Our thoughts and prayers go to Harriet's family and friends. _________________ When you're curious, you find lots of interesting things to do.

Prayers and thoughts to her family.
Unfortunately, the passing of Disney Legends and the number of people who actually worked with Walt will reach the point where all of those neat 1st person "legacy" narratives with go away. How different a company will we be left with in, say, 20 years or so?
I hope it never gets so watered down or derivative that it doesn't resemble Walt's orginal dream. Let's hope it never loses it's sense of wonder, imagination and creativity that we know and love.
Sorry to post a downer...I just hope my son can have the same great memories of Walt Disney and his company as I did and do. _________________ Pop Century 2005 and 2006, Saratoga Springs 2007, Inagural Pirates and Princess Party 2007, can't go 2008 =(
Current generations barely know Walt Disney was a real person. Many kids and young adults think Disney is just a name, not a person or family. That's the real shame.
There are a number of American icon that we should be teaching our kids about, and I believe Walt Disney is one of them. Due to him and his outlook, there are a great many things that we cannot even begin to think about not being here. _________________ When you're curious, you find lots of interesting things to do.
