|
|
From the Disneyland Passholder's Site:
Join us for a special preview of the newly enhanced "it's a small world" before the official reopening! Dubbed "the happiest cruise that ever sailed the world" at the New York World's Fair 45 years ago, "it's a small world" takes you on a joyful boat ride as memorable as the delightful song that serenades you on your journey.
This classic attraction has been renovated, adding new places as well as familiar faces. Be sure to look for some of the "it's a small world" dolls dressed up as some of your favorite Disney characters in the countries where those stories take place!
Annual Passholder special preview:
* Thursday, February 5, 2009
* 10:00am - 8:00pm
Just show your Annual Pass to the Cast Member at the attraction entrance to be permitted entry during this special time.
The attraction opens to the public on Friday, February 6, 2009.
Previews are on a first-come, first-serve basis and may involve long wait times. Each Guest must show a valid Annual Passport to be permitted entry during this specific preview time. Valid Theme Park admission is required. Event subject to change without notice.

ever since the rehab started there have been rumors it would get the Disney characters added to it. I think like what they did at the Hong Kong DL, if I am wrong about which Asian park someone please correct me. I have seen a Utube video of that IASW and from what I could decipher it seemed nice. I know at Christmas when I was there IASW looked great. I am looking forward to seeing this in Feb. Not on the preview day but sometime that month I plan on making a trip to DL. _________________ Jason

I wish I was going to be able to see it sometime soon...I've been hearing a lot about the refurb. I saw in holiday version that they really did move stuff around quite a bit. There are also to be adding a new country at the end where the holiday cards usually sit.
I think it looked absolutely fabulous at the holidays! I'm not thrilled at the addition of characters...but it is a done deal.
I hope it is just as great as always!

This is one of the big arguments going on on the other websites. The main position seems to be "How dare they change something Walt worked on". The adding of characters is highly expected but not much liked. It also has not been confirmed yet. They have also removed the rainforest portion. The biggest changes are in the canals outside where they had to deepen them for the newer heavier Americans and make some boats more accessable.
My option? Wait and see. Anyone who does go, please let us know! |

I think it sounds good. Just wish I had plans to get out to California this year
to see my brother-in-law so I could get to DL and see the enhancements. |

Well, we got to see the enhancements this past week. I must say, I like them! It doesn't take away from the original part of the attraction and unless you are looking for some of them, you might not even notice.
A nice addition and very well done. _________________ When you're curious, you find lots of interesting things to do.

I agree with David. The changes were nice. We had fun going through trying to identify them all. _________________ *~deb~*

The changes are actually pretty nice, especially because DL has been lacking a good kids ride that EVERY kid could associate with. They included all of the greatest hits from the last two decades, and it looks pretty good.
What I don't like about it is the new 45 minute line that goes along with it. |

When we were there over Present's Day weekend, the line wound all the way back to Matterhorn! Later in the week, the wait was only like 5 minutes, but that weekend was more like 60 to 90 minutes! _________________ When you're curious, you find lots of interesting things to do.

I was there the weekend of Lincoln's Birthday. They had it wrapped around that empty pointless area to the right of the parade starting point. Let's just say that's the only time I will EVER wait more than 20 minutes for something in Fantasyland |

That's not a pointless area. That area was created for the Greatest Night Spectacular to ever come from a Disney theme park. _________________ Jason

You don't see too many fireworks standing behind pillars, last time I checked. Instead of being where I will get steamrolled by people after Fireworks, I just watch 'em from Tomorrowland or Frontierland, where people are too busy to notice you are stopped :p |
