|
|
My mom and I are heading to WDW next week. We are only doing one day at the parks, and then we'll be spending a day at Wizarding World. (The way my mom feels about Harry Potter is the way I feel about Star Wars.) We are staying at the Contemporary, which is a longtime dream of Mom's. I have never seen the Electrical Water Pageant and really want to check it out one night. Any suggestions on good viewing areas from the Contemporary? _________________ Beth's Blog |

Take the Monorail over to The Poly, grab a drink and/or snack (or a Dole Whip) and head to the beach area. They pipe the music on to the beach area. You can sit in chairs, or relax in a hammock or just sit on the beach.
Best place to see the show!! _________________ When you're curious, you find lots of interesting things to do.

And a Dole Whip to boot? SOLD. Thanks for the advice!! I've never been to the Poly, so this will be a fun excuse to check it out. _________________ Beth's Blog |

I grew up near Orlando and went to Disney all the time (we had annual passes), but I never stayed on property until I was an adult. Even still, I've only stayed at a couple of the All-Stars and camped at Ft. Wilderness. I've been to most of the other resorts for dinner, etc., but just haven't made it to the Poly. _________________ Beth's Blog |

Well, this just goes to show, now matter how many times you've been to Disney, there's ALWAYS something new to experience! _________________ When you're curious, you find lots of interesting things to do.

FYI: I you get there early enough and walk down the beach towards the Grand Floridian you can catch the music from the Polynesian Revue dinner show. It makes for a very relaxing evening (especially with a Mail Tai in your hand).... _________________ John |

I can't choose between a Dole Whip and a Mai Tai. Guess I'll have both. Now, if only there was a bar at the Poly that served Kungalooshes... _________________ Beth's Blog |

I can hardly wait for a trip report! The Disney and the Potter---I really enjoyed the WWOHP when we've headed over there.
Hope it has been a GREAT trip!

It was a super trip! We did MK and Epcot in one day, and walked onto almost everything. The only waits were 5 minutes for Jungle Cruise and 15 minutes for it's a small world. We wound up watching the water pageant at the Contemporary, but we did go over to the Poly to explore and have a Dole Whip. (No mai tai for me - I had plenty of sangria at dinner earlier that night!)
Wizarding World was really nicely done, albeit small. The ride inside the castle was absolutely fantastic, and the queue was equally well done. It's rare for me to be impressed by anything Universal does, but this was one of the few exceptions. I was also happy to see how well the employees played along with the fantasy - like a lady at Zonko's who made an offhand comment about the house elves acting up.
Thanks for the advice, all! That Dole Whip was sooooo good! _________________ Beth's Blog |
